Kalina McCaul is originally from Ottawa, Canada and holds a Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University, Sweden. She has worked in humanitarian and education fields for over a decade in Canada and around the globe. Kalina spent 7 years at the Canadian Red Cross leading on international humanitarian law dissemination, development and facilitation of child violence and abuse prevention programming, management of refugee services, and communications. 

Internationally, Kalina has coordinated mine action programming for Mine Action Canada in Nepal, conducted monitoring and evaluation for the Dallaire Initiative in Rwanda, acted as the gender, human rights, and international humanitarian law focal point for the British Army in Kenya, and advised on child protection in emergencies for UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office in Kenya.
