A retiring Infantry Lieutenant-Colonel with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, George Boyuk has occupied a variety of command and instructor positions at the tactical level as well as staff and liaison positions at the operational and strategic levels of the Canadian Armed Forces throughout his 30 plus years of service.  His three tenures as Chief of Staff, including with Canada’s Joint Task Force-Iraq, have provided him endless opportunities to employ his Masters Degree in Conflict Analysis & Management to establish sustainable outputs, facilitate best practices, and deliver positive outcomes to challenging problems. George has garnered operational experience with the United Nations in Darfur, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as having deployed to assist other host nations in Central, East and South Africa.

George is transitioning to consulting in the non-profit industry where he intends to share his extensive security sector experience to advise and assist with the development and implementation of innovative solutions to humanitarian endeavours. His desire to continue making a difference has drawn him to the Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative where he can leverage his experience and contacts to advise on multiple projects related to training, doctrine and integration.
